1956 Chevys received a facelift. This gave Chevrolets a more conventional full-width grille pleasing those customers who did not like the 1955 front end. Nomads now carried the same interior and rear wheel sheet metal as other Bel Airs lacking the original s unique trim. A padded dashboard was now available. For 1956 Chevy hid the gas cap behind a flipdown tail light on the left side.

Sharing bodyshells with lower-end Buicks and Oldsmobiles as well as with Pontiac, part of a GM economy move, the Chevrolet's wheelbase was 1 1/2 inches longer. It was the more expensive model in the Chevrolet range at this time with the Mercury and Standard providing a cheaper and smaller range between 1933 and 1937. From 1940 a more expensive version based on the Master Deluxe was launched called the Special Deluxe.

1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Beginning mid year 1970, and ending with the 1971 model, there also was the Barracuda Coupe A93, a LowEnd model which included the 198ci Slant Six as a base engine, lower grade interior, and like other Coupe series Chrysler Corp. offered that year had fixed quarter glass instead of roll-down rear passenger windows. The high performance models were marketed as Cuda deriving from the 1969 option. The E-body's engine bay was larger than that of the previous A-body, facilitating the release of Chrysler's 426 cu in 7.0 L Hemi for the regular retail market.

Classic American Muscle Cars 2021 - 55 Chevy Nomad 1955 Chevrolets received all new styling. Advertised as The Hot One the boxy new Chevy was crisp, clean and thoroughly modern looking and its popularity was shared with the Tri-Five Chevrolets of this generation. The base V8 had a 2-barrel carburetor and was rated at 162 HP and the Power Pack option featured a 4-barrel carburetor and other upgrades yielding 180 bhp. Later in the year, a Super Power Pack option added high-compression and a further 15 bhp. It had room for 6 passengers.
