The Pontiac Firebird was an American automobile built by Pontiac from the
1967 - 2002 model years. Designed as a pony car to compete with the Ford Mustang
and Mercury Cougar, it was introduced on Feb 23 1967, simultaneous with
GM's Chevrolet division platform-sharing Camaro. This also coincided with
the release of the 1967 Mercury Cougar, Ford's upscale, platform sharing
version of the Mustang.

1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Beginning mid year 1970, and ending with the 1971 model, there also was the Barracuda Coupe A93, a LowEnd model which included the 198ci Slant Six as a base engine, lower grade interior, and like other Coupe series Chrysler Corp. offered that year had fixed quarter glass instead of roll-down rear passenger windows. The high performance models were marketed as Cuda deriving from the 1969 option. The E-body's engine bay was larger than that of the previous A-body, facilitating the release of Chrysler's 426 cu in 7.0 L Hemi for the regular retail market.

Advertised as The Hot One the boxy new Chevy was crisp, clean and thoroughly modern looking and its popularity was shared with the Tri-Five Chevrolets of this generation. The base V8 had a 2-barrel carburetor and was rated at 162 HP and the Power Pack option featured a 4-barrel carburetor and other upgrades yielding 180 bhp. Later in the year, a Super Power Pack option added high-compression and a further 15 bhp. It had room for 6 passengers.
